THE “MAGIC” IS LIVE AND SO IS THE PROOF-

PROOF-it-ONLINE RELEASES NEW PROOF UPLOAD AND MANAGEMENT APPLICATION

WITH AN ENHANCED ONLINE PROOFING INTERFACE

April 9,  2001 – Naples, FLA. – PROOF-it-ONLINE, a technology company that provides idea, concept and proof approval and review solutions, launched a new simplified file upload and proof management application at Seybold Boston 2001. The new application now provides PDF, PostScript, and multi-file format support and delivers an easier online approval interface.

“These new enhancements were created to further streamline the file upload process, making PROOF-it-ONLINE an even easier solution,” said Robert Munz, president of PROOF-it-ONLINE.  “Our application changes came from direct feedback from our customers and users. We’re giving designers a tool to meet their real-world challenges.”

Proof MagicTM, the new upload application, supports over 50 file formats including several native file formats, PDF and PostScript. Files are instantly uploaded to the PROOF-it-ONLINE server, converted and made available for review through any browser without need for special viewing software.  In addition, the upload process automates multi-page uploads. The designer uploads a multi-page file in one session, and the system separates the pages, allowing for individual page review and approval.

A little magic also has been applied to the PROOF-it-ONLINE proof management interface, referred to as Approvals Workspace.  Proofs can now be sorted by client, upload date, upload status, proof status or tracking number.  The addition of the tracking number allows PROOF-it-ONLINE customers to more closely tie the approval process to other aspects of the job.  Proofs can be tracked by a job number or purchase order number.  The proof management tool functions as a virtual job jacket, providing a detailed proof status report and comment history. Customers are able to track and record the time and date of approvals and client requested revisions.

The application’s new “Hold and Release” option a
llows designers and sales representatives, customer service representatives or account executives to better work together to service their customers.  A designer can upload the prepared proof file and choose to “HOLD” the job.  The account representative is notified that a proof file is being held and can access the file to add client information and make the proof available to the client.

Enhancements to the PROOF-it-ONLINE proof viewer improve the review session of the print or design buyer.  The viewing window is larger, and the toolbar and user features are more intuitive. The reviewer can choose to view a proof at a standard or higher resolution. Browser compatibility of PROOF-it-ONLINE’s annotation feature has been improved. PROOF-it-ONLINE supports Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Netscape’s Navigator and AOL 4.0+ browsers on the PC and MAC. Online annotation allows clients to “mark-up” a design, layout or graphic just as they would a printed proof, using mouse controls.  Clients can circle areas, draw arrows and type text to indicate desired changes to a specific area of a proof.  After the client completes the revisions, a click on the “submit” button sends the marked-up proof for the designer’s review.  This is accomplished without the need for adding or installing any software or plug-ins and therefore allows review from any web-enabled computer.

The company’s focus has been on creating a new streamlined solution to the traditional proofing and approval process. Online proofing eliminates the need for printing costly proofs and delivering them by fax, email, courier or overnight letter.  PROOF-it-ONLINE allows graphic and image oriented businesses, including Advertising Agencies, Commercial Printers, Newspaper and Magazine Publishers, Graphic Designers, Layout Artists, Sign Companies, Logo Designers, Display Companies and many others, to integrate online proofing and project approvals within their existing web sites.

Integrating PROOF-it-ONLINE into an existing web site simply requires adding a clickable button or text link to the designer’s web site. The proof reviewer accesses proofs directly through the designer’s web site.

Tours explaining how to upload and manager projects and how to proof projects are available online. No training is necessary.

"Giving graphic designers new tools to utilize the power of the Internet promises better communication with their customers and improved efficiency in their operations. The focus of our business is improving theirs," said Munz.

PROOF-it-ONLINE offers a free 15-day trial to those visiting the website at http://proofitonline.com/code/signup/signup1.cfm.  Monthly service fee starts at $34.95 per month

PROOF-it-ONLINE was formed in January 1999 to answer the need for a streamlined, electronic proofing process that would benefit the publishing, printing and advertising industries.
