NAPLES, FL, September 5, 2002 -- PROOF-it-ONLINE, the leading provider of web-based design approval solutions, will introduce a new suite of solutions and tools at Seybold Seminars San Francisco. PROOF-it-ONLINE provides clear-cut solutions that solve a common problem - approving designs efficiently and accurately.
"Our solutions are driven by technology that is easy to adopt and automates much of the approval process,"said Rob Munz, President of PROOF-it-ONLINE. "We focus on meeting the needs of the majority of creative professionals rather than just those focused on production proofing which means we have to provide cost effective, easy to use, yet powerful solutions. We've accomplished this with our new product releases."
PROOF-it-ONLINE's affordable solutions are designed to provide a significant - up to 3000% and rapid Return On Investment (ROI) for publishers, commercial printers, creative agencies and other businesses requiring internal or client design approvals. With the adoption of online proofing, businesses eliminate delivery fees, costly printed proofs, faxes and email problems, as well as the delays associated with each delivery method.
"Businesses are looking for tools that can improve productivity and the bottom line.
A web-based approval solution is a tool that can help businesses realize immediate savings," Munz states. "PROOF-it-ONLINE can offer savings as high as 30:1 to those businesses requiring design approvals and looking for ways to decrease expenses and improve margins."
New Products Debuting
The new solutions - POL Mark-Up (an enhanced version of the core solution) and PDF Select (a PDF approval solution) - were developed after 2 years of feedback from real-world users, exhaustive surveys, technology adoption studies and Internet technical advances.
"This new product release is an exciting evolution of PROOF-it-ONLINE made possible by the feedback and requests of our customers and in turn their customers," said Munz. "The changes reflect our desire to provide solutions that combine user demand with innovative development."
Both PDF Select and POL Mark-UP offer approval tracking, management, archiving, branding, website integration, and secure data transmission delivered through a common web browser interface. The solutions are cross-browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape and AOL) and cross-platform compatible. Offered as an ASP solution, PROOF-it-ONLINE does not require capital expenses, nor does it burden IT departments with installation, configurations or maintenance.
The subscription-based application delivers enhancements to the customer without the need for software upgrade purchases or re-configurations.
POL Mark-Up
POL Mark-Up is the Company's original Internet-based soft proofing application. Creative providers present ideas, concepts and proofs online for their clients to review, annotate and approve without having to purchase, download or install specialized and often high priced software. The POL Mark-Up interactive review interface allows MAC or PC users to draw circles, lines and arrows, as well as type text, to mark-up the proof in the review window. The straightforward interface assures success for even the most inexperienced Internet user.
PDF Select
A new platform designed for graphic arts professionals who work in a PDF workflow and whose clients prefer to view in Adobe's Acrobat Reader. PDF Select is an online, stand-alone application that features viewing and printability of PDF's through Acrobat Reader with the added benefit of an integrated commenting and approval interface. PDF Select allows reviewers to view the proof through familiar software, while placing comments and change requests in the same browser.
"What we've learned from our customers and in turn their customers from which they seek approvals is that it's just not enough for them to be able to post a PDF online or send an e-mail attachment for client approval," Munz explained. "They must be able to track proofs to ensure that changes are made and approved and that the latest version of the proof is indeed what the client is signing off on. PDF Select enables this process."
The new application ensures users the fidelity of a PDF with fast and reliable interactivity.
"We've taken PDF proofing to a new level, adding efficiency and accuracy to the PDF approval workflow," Munz stated. "In addition, as companies have enacted policies that prohibit the opening of e-mail attachments for fear of infecting their networks with a computer virus, we've provided a better alternative."
Approval Share Feature
PROOF-it-ONLINE is also debuting a new virtual routing add-on for multi-reviewers called Approval Share. Approval Share can be added to both POL Mark-Up and PDF Select and allows the reviewer to control routing of the image or document being proofed. Reviewers can share feedback and approvals with colleagues across a large organization or among many reviewers. The creative provider need post the image for review only once to obtain reviews or signoffs from all.
Quick Up
The new hot folder upload feature allows users to place multiple files through their FTP client directly into their PROOF-it-ONLINE account. In one step, the automated upload partitions jobs, completes contact information, and notifies account representative that the job is ready to be reviewed and then released to the client. This feature supports PDF, as well as other common file formats.
XPressProof
In addition to PROOF-it-ONLINE's new product suite, a new tool is available for users of QuarkXPress. XPressProof is an extensions tool available to PROOF-it-ONLINE customers who create their work in Quark. Through an alliance with Gluon, a leading extensions developer, PROOF-it-ONLINE provides a downloadable tool that allows users to create a .pol file (PROOF-it-ONLINE exclusive proof-ready file format) directly from the Quark extension pull-down menu.
The .pol file is placed in a folder and is ready to upload to PROOF-it-ONLINE. This tool's functionality allows multiple resolution export.
"Now, with the full compatibility for Quark users, the improved resolution and comprehensive application offerings, our solution will fit into a majority of workflows," Munz stated. "We've been listening to our customers and users, and they are demanding the types of tools we're delivering.
PROOF-it-ONLINE was formed in January 1999 to answer the need for a streamlined, electronic proofing process that benefits the graphic arts, publishing, printing and advertising industries.
